We are predominantly based in Leeds, West Yorkshire but undertake projects throughout Yorkshire and Merseyside and indeed throughout the North of England. Some of our recent projects have been as far afield as York and Durham. HISTORY
Cole Gornall Cross is the amalgamation of two architectural practices: Cole Architecture and Gornall Cross. St. Helens based architect Stephen Culley took over the directorship of Gornall Cross Ltd. in 2002. Gornall Cross was a small practice that covered a wide range of projects in a vast array of sectors including residential, commercial, education and healthcare. In 2016 Stephen retired from his role as director to enjoy retirement, spend time with his family especially his young grandchildren. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Pennines, Marion Cole was running her own business in Leeds using the business name Cole Architecture. Marion established her business in 2007. Despite the split locations, Marion and Stephen had been working together for over five years and when Stephen retired. Marion happily took over the reins of the two practices in 2016 and to reflect the change, combined the two practice names creating: Cole Gornall Cross.
